La Croix Boissée
The Intensity of the “big brother”
La Croix Boissée is a unique plot. Old vines planted in 1974, located on the best slope of the Cravant hill and with an ideal exposure, the very south of the hill. It is a true treasure for the wines in Chinon.
On the surface, the sandy clay soil provides a silky and original texture to the wine. A bit deeper, we find calcareous soil, the natural rock of this region which provides a wild and prodigious touch.
Bertrand Sourdais, aware of the predominant character of the soil, blends soil and variety in each vintage to produce one of the great crus of the domaine.
The cabernet franc grapes, grown in this incomparable terroir, apart from its careful 18-month crianza, provide dense red fruit aroma and mineral intensity thanks to the “tuffeau”.
La Croix Boissée, which is Les Pensées de Pallus´ great sister is indisputably, the jewel of Domaine de Pallus with its unique terroir and its special heritage.
